About Emirates Stadium

Emirates Stadium is a football stadium in Islington, North London, England. It is located just north of central London. The stadium is large enough for any kind of athletic event, holding up to 60,361 people. It is the third largest stadium in the United Kingdom. It is home to the Arsenal Football Club. Emirate Airline is the sponsor for the stadium. Construction was finished in July 2006; it cost £390 million to build.

The best way to reach Emirates Stadium is on the metro because there is very little parking at the stadium, even on non-matchdays. There are three tube stations within a short walk of 10 minutes or less to the stadium: Arsenal, on the Piccadilly line; Finsbury Park, on the Victoria and Piccadilly line; and Highbury & Islington, on the Victoria and North London line.

Emirates Stadium offers self-guided tours of the stadium where you can walk around the stadium with an audio guide. You can also go on a tour accompanied by a stadium legend. Both tours take you all over the premises, from the players' tunnel to the locker rooms to the stadium museum. A tour takes from 55 to 90 minutes to complete.

The stadium is located in a 7.8-acre park area and sits on a podium to separate it from the street traffic below. Near the front entrance of the stadium is a megastore that sells goods from the Arsenal football team. Emirate's shape is that of a curved bowl and its highest point is only 46 meters above the ground.

In addition to the home games of the Arsenal Football Club, Emirates Stadium regularly hosts matches with the Brazilian national football team. It also hosts major conferences and large music concerts.
